Mark Phillips is a Fine Art Oil Painter and Art Teacher, based in the Kloof area of Durban, South Africa, whose artworks in oils and acrylics are housed in leading Private Art Collections worldwide.

Mark runs small art classes for students at his studio in Kloof. These small classes allow Mark to provide his students with one on one tuition unavailable in many larger art schools.

Mark was raised on a farm in the Cape and has always had a love for Southern Africa. This rural childhood brought him many inspirations as a young man and he knew from an early age that he would spend his life painting.
Throughout his career as an artist Mark has travelled the world gaining inspiration for many of his paintings.
This extensive world travel and numerous years of living, working and exhibiting abroad has Mark leaving a trail of artistic history and a legacy of outstanding artworks, including his ever popular palette-knife techniques.
He has a dedicated and adoring audience, especially in Australia, where his popularity reached a peak during his stay in the eighties.
He has exhibited in the UK, America, Australia and his home country of South Africa, and has been especially recognised in Australia by winning the prestigious Australian Society of Artists Annual Exhibition three times.
